I won’t lie, I want to gatekeep Kate Bush from the Stranger Things crowd. Someone called “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” the “stranger things song” in the comments of a TikTok I saw recently and I threw my phone across the room. They don’t deserve her and her genius! But actually, she deserves this moment and I’ll always have “Suspended in Gaffa” to lord over the fake fans:
By the time you read this, I’ll be in Spain, preparing my mind, body, and soul for three days of Primavera—which is to say, three days of staying up past ten o’clock. Of all the artists I’m slated to see the first weekend, I think I’m the most excited for The National, my number one Sad Guys. I missed their show at the Greek in 2018, and I think about it everyday. It’s time to right that wrong! I’m going to cry and it will feel so good.
