I’m working on a new project for this newsletter: interviews. Interestingly, the part of the process I’m finding to be the most intimidating is the writing—the talking comes easy, and you’ll hear in the first edition with my friend Sabrina that we’re really excited about talking—the parsing of the conversation into something legible and unyieldingly interesting, sucked dry of the real moments of silence and faltering. I’ve been struggling to decide what kind of format I want to use to present these conversations. There are some truly beautiful moments that I want to highlight, but I’m afraid of manipulating them into something untrue. It’s a difficult balance, and I’m still finding it.

Part of this process has entailed reading and collecting some really good interviews. I’m doing research. Here are some of my favorites to share with you:
