I first heard this song just a few months ago, when Madeline put it on the setlist for the show we played on Halloween of Neil Young covers. It has that ineffable Neil quality about it, the simplicity of the lyrics sung so plainly somehow transforming the melody into something deeply emotional and profound. It’s my new favorite Neil song.
