The chokehold that this song has on me. I really love the “sparkly” trend in pop vocals (see also: “Antichrist” by Holly Humberstone) paired with really sparse instrumentals, like in this chorus.

I didn’t listen to this song when it came out because sometimes Carly Rae Jepsen does Bad Collaboration Tracks. This song though is great—it’s Westerman meets Lorde somehow. The strange structure of the chorus is really compelling.
