Currently: Tiny Desk party

Early on in my undergraduate career, one of my friends hosted a Tiny Desk party: he polled attendants’ favorite Tiny Desk Concerts and played them on a projector in the backyard while we all milled around drinking beers. It is perhaps still the best party I’ve ever been to. Here are the Tiny Desks that I’d play if I curated a similar event:
I was sent this video by a friend with the message, “This is maybe the best Tiny Desk I’ve ever seen.” High praise! I’m obsessed with the Prada fit and the guy off to the far right who’s not even behind the desk… a real team player.
I love videos of Jenny Lewis’ performances; she’s always kind of weird. She actually messes up during “Just One of the Guys,” but it’s very endearing. I’m also very excited recently about Anna Butterss, the bassist.
I love in this video when she says, “Hit it!” right at the beginning—I really respect how much she has fun with her old hits that I’m sure she’s played a thousand times. The lighting is also so good; can we get fun lamps for all the Tiny Desks?
Speaking of fun lighting, Tyler, The Creator really did something with his Tiny Desk performance. These female vocalists are killing it!
